About
Moonrise

Moonrise Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) rescue and regenerative sanctuary founded in 2016 by Angie Riker and Bob Weinswig. Our mission is to provide lifelong safety, healing, and high-quality physical and emotional care for horses, donkeys, mustangs, burros, and the many animals who make up our magical farm family. Many of our rescues come from heartbreaking circumstances, including slaughter-bound auctions, while others arrive through private surrender or rehoming when their human partners are seeking a loving next chapter for them.

Nestled beside hundreds of acres of trails, Moonrise Sanctuary is rooted in consistency, movement, herd harmony, and slowly built relationships between animals and humans. Alongside rescue and rehabilitation, we offer educational gatherings, peaceful healing experiences, farm-raised goods from our honor-system farm stand, regenerative land practices, beekeeping, and special sanctuary events like our upcoming TinyAss Concerts. Everything we do is guided by devotion to our rescues, our land, and the people who help keep Moonrise Sanctuary’s magic alive.
